Was versteht man unter „Banger-Perlen“?
What are “banger pearls”?

Banger pearls—also known as dab pearls, terp pearls, or simply banger pearls—are small, usually spherical objects that are inserted into the banger oil bowl of a dab rig. They are specifically used when dabbing concentrates such as wax, rosin, or shatter to improve heat distribution and vaporization of the active ingredients.

What are banger beads made of?
Banger beads are available in different materials, depending on the desired effect and personal preference:

  • Quartz: Particularly heat-resistant, ideal for even temperature distribution.
  • Borosilicate glass: Visually appealing, easy to clean, but less robust.
  • Ceramic: Stores heat very well and releases it slowly and consistently.
  • Ruby or sapphire (synthetic): Very high quality, extremely heat-resistant, ensures top taste.

What are the benefits of banger pearls?
The small balls have a surprisingly big effect when dabbing:

  • Better heat distribution: The rotating beads ensure that the concentrate is heated evenly.
  • Less residue: The movement means less dab sticks to one spot.
  • More efficient evaporation: The active ingredient is better utilized – less loss, more effect.
  • Cooling through movement: The rotation creates air circulation, which can make the vaping experience more pleasant.
  • Visual highlight: Especially in combination with a spinning carb cap, the spinning of the beads looks impressive.

How do they work?
When the banger is heated—e.g., with a torch—the beads are already inside. When the concentrate is added and the airflow is directed through a special carb cap (often a spinning cap), the beads begin to rotate in a circle. This movement distributes the concentrate better and vaporizes more evenly.

  • What should you pay attention to?
Size: Common diameters are 4 mm to 6 mm – depending on the size of the banger.
  • Cleaning: After use, the beads should be cleaned regularly with isopropanol to avoid residues.
  • Material compatibility: Not all beads are suitable for all heat levels – quartz, for example, is more resistant than glass.
