What is a bong adapter (coupling)?

A bong adapter – or simply a coupling – is something like a transition piece or connecting aid for your bong. Imagine you have two parts that don't fit together properly – for example, a bowl with a 14.5mm joint, but your bong has an 18.8mm joint. Without an adapter? No chance. With an adapter? A perfect fit. Adapters help you connect different joint sizes or designs – regardless of whether you want to use bowls, chillums, pre-coolers, or even dab attachments.

What do you need something like that for?

• Want to fit a small bowl into a large bong? → Adapter.
• Want to connect a pre-cooler with a different cut? → Adapter.
• Want to make your set more flexible and try out new parts? → Adapters.

In short: adapters make your bong compatible, flexible and upgradeable – without you having to buy completely new parts every time.

What variants are there?

There are adapters in all possible designs:

• from small to large (e.g. 14.5 → 18.8)
• from large to small (e.g. 18.8 → 14.5)
• with angle (so you can pull more comfortably or the part fits better)
• with extension (if you need distance, e.g. for pre-cooler)
• and even change gender – from male to female or vice versa

The adapters are usually made of glass, but there are also some made of silicone, which are easier to adjust.
